SELIN PROJECTS and new optoelectronic measuring system for fine leathers MILLIMIR®

The MILLIMIR® trademark represents the first, and for the moment the only, opto-electronic system available on the market able to detect the measure, with a real millimetric accuracy, of all the precious skins like those of reptiles, pythons , alligators, iguanas and other similar ones.

In a more general context of the market increasing for luxury products, and of attention for products manufactured with these type of skins, “fashion oriented” industries have been pushed to develop their activity in the use of these precious skins.

This positive trend has surely advantaged the manufacturers of the above mentioned precious skins; in fact they have dedicated their efforts for transforming their hand-craft activity into an industrial one.

SELIN PROJECTS, having received interesting proposals and enquiries by a leading industry of this field , has decided to accept the challenge of the automation of the process for the measuring of precious skins, that had been, up recently, always and only faced with an activity of manual measuring and classification.

In order to satisfy completely the measurement requirements of these producer their Customers, SELIN PROJECTS has immediately understood it was necessary to study and to find a technical solution able to replace and improve the activity of a skilled human operator.

For this reason it has been necessary to develop a specific detecting optical sensor with millmetric accuracy and suitable working width of 400 mm, that is to-day the “core” of the MILLIMIR® system.
